Dr. Erick Araneda was born in Guatemala City and moved extensively due to his father ‘s military career in The US Army.
Dr. Araneda finished medical school in Guatemala where he also got his black belt in Karate. He then went on to do his Internal Medicine residency in Little Rock, Arkansas where he met his wife Karla. He proudly served eight years in the Army National Guard in Arkansas and Kentucky.
Their family moved to Lexington, Kentucky to complete his cardiology fellowship. They returned to Arkansas where he practiced for 16 years. Both he and his wife enjoy triathlons and have completed Ironmans and half Ironmans as well as marathons. They have also participated in skydiving and scuba diving.
Dr. Araneda moved to Grand Junction in 2014 and fell in love with the outdoor adventures, especially mountain biking! He still competes in local races.
Dr. Araneda has 3 grown daughters, 1 son and a granddaughter.
He is board certified in Cardiology and performs angioplasties and stents as well as implants devices for his patients.
